Why tell others about Jesus
God’s Love. His love for us (1 John 4:10) and His love in us. (Romans 5:5) Move me to love the world as He does (John 3:16).
Christ’s call. Jesus tells us to go (Matthew 28:19) and commissions us into the ministry of reconciling the lost to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19)
The Holy Spirit’s Power. Acts 1:8 promises spiritual power for our evangelistic task. Remember, ultimately it’s His work to convict of sin, bring new birth, and mature a believer in Christ (John 16:8)
A Great Responsibility. We are God’s ambassador (2 Corinthians 5:20); we’re also God’s coworkers (1 Corinthians 3:9). Reaching others for Christ is a big job, but we have a big God at our side.
A Great Privilege. Like those Jesus has touched (see John 4 and 9), we respond by wanting to share His touch with others.
Lost People. Ephesians 2:1 is clear: People are dead in their sings. They also are blinded by Satan (2 Corinthians 4:4). Without Christ, people are in dire need.
Hell is Reality. Jesus taught the reality of hell (Luck 16:19-31), and the apostles preached it (Acts 2:36-41). Evangelism is a matter of life and death.
Heaven is Reality. When one person is saved there is joy in heaven (Luke 15). We, too, experience great joy when someone becomes a follower of Christ (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20). This taste of heaven’s joy moves us to share the good news with others.
God wants you to partake in the greatest event in history, redemption. Who might you share this good news ?
Romans 10:14-15
14But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.”
