Pastor Rich Edwards
I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and to this day I am an avid Philadelphia sports fan. God’s favorite football team is the Philadelphia Eagles?? I love motorcycles, good preaching and dinner with good friends. Following Jesus and being active in the life of a church has not only enhanced my life but it is my life. I am thankful that my parents loved me enough to teach me Jesus and take me to church. It was in grade school where I asked Jesus to forgive me for my sins.

After high school I attended a Christian college, The King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, New York. I received a Business Administration degree in 1984. When I look back at college what I remember most is the incarcerated youth I had an opportunity to talk to about Jesus.

I worked in a bank for a few years in Philadelphia after college but soon realized it was not my calling at all. This led me to Denver Seminary in Denver, Colorado and in 1991 I received a MDIV/CE degree. For the next six years I ministered with Youth for Christ in Denver and Rochester, New York as a juvenile prison chaplain. For the past ten and half years I had the privilege of ministering at the First United Methodist church in Port St. Lucie, Florida as the assistant pastor. My focus was missions, outreach and discipleship and I will never forget the opportunity God gave me in helping put together the contemporary worship service. I have been on mission trips to Sierra Leone, Africa, Cabezo, Cuba, and Bayou LaBatre, Alabama after Hurricane Katrina. Followers of Jesus were made for mission. Following Jesus is more than just believing all the right stuff.

My wife, Jennifer and I married in 1991 after meeting as students at Denver Seminary. Jennifer and I have been blessed with twin girls, (August 2001) Erin and Mallory. Buster, our fourteen year old Yorkshire-Poodle is also part of the family. We are excited to be here at Layhill Community Church and we are looking forward towards the adventure God has for us.

Pastor Wil Shorb
As the current visitation pastor, Pastor Wilbert Shorb has been attending Layhill Church since 1947. He is a graduate of Spring Arbor Jr. College, and is one of the original Shorb Brothers, a Christian singing group that traveled nationwide throughout the 60's and 70's. Single most of his life, Pastor Wil is now happily married to Ruth, who works beside him in his duties at Layhill.

LeAnne Johnson
"In His Service" has always been her motto! Serving now as the church secretary, LeAnne Johnson was born 2nd daughter, and one of eight children, to Hap and Jackie Shorb. Shortly after they were born, the Shorb children were brought to church. LeAnne can't remember a time or event that didn't somehow involve the church. and the Layhill Free Methodist Church has been a place that she has called home most of her life.

LeAnne accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior at the tender age of 12, at the Md./Va. Free Methodist campgrounds, where she was baptized at the age of 17. She has been married to Charlie Johnson for 26 years, and is the mother of 5 wonderful boys, who also make Layhill their home. She is called "momma LeAnne" or "Aunt LeAnne" to more children than we can count!

Her passion is music, and her love is children and decorating. She combines all of these gifts to reach people of all nationalities for Jesus. She has worked in our youth and children's departments in various capacities for many years. Layhill is just home!
